 TORPEDO SAND
Consists of basically sand with a very fine aggregate with a particle size less then 3/8".  It is both washed and screened. Meets ASTM C 33 sand for concrete.  It is used in concrete (not for mortar), utility pipe bedding and/or backfill, beach sand, mound-type septic systems, and livestock bedding.

Excellent choice for backfill/utility pipe bedding- minimal settling.
When used for backfill- offers a "visual warning" to excavations later on. When digging and the vein of material is hit, the person knows there is a utility of some type nearby.
